This Summer The
Helicopter Museum in Weston-super-Mare played host to an Engineering
Student from France who spent 2 months at the world famous aviation
museum as part of his diploma in Aeronautical Aircraft Maintenance.
During his internship at the Weston-super-Mare attraction Benoit
Lepicier, who comes from the small French village of Congriez,
undertook several conservation projects including the complete
overhaul of a 200hp Franklin 6V4-200 –C33 piston engine from a
Hiller UH-12C helicopter.
“We were so impressed
by the quality of Benoit’s work that we had the engine mounted and
then put out on permanent public display” said The Helicopter
Museum’s Collection Officer Kathryn Sherrington. “Benoit chose to
spend his internship here because we have the Worlds largest
collection of helicopters and there is always plenty of conservation
work to be done.”
