10th January 2006 FOUR DAYS OF AVIATION ACTION The annual International Helidays Plus event traditionally held on the seafront at Weston-super-Mare in Somerset at the end of July has announced an extra day for the 2007 event on Thursday 26th July. The change follows a trial last year when a full fledged flying display was mounted by the organisers two days before the main event to coincide with an appearance by the Red Arrows, sponsored by the Grand Pier. This year the famous aerobatic team will perform a day later allowing the static and ground displays to be brought forward for a full four day event. Helidays Plus is organised by a team of volunteers, sponsored by Avia Press Associates with assistance from North Somerset District and Weston-super-Mare Town Councils and is now in its 17th year. All profits are distributed to local charities including The Helicopter Museum. The event takes place along three quarters of a mile of the seafront Beach Lawns, with static and visiting helicopter displays, a vintage military vehicle line up, art and craft fair and a variety of other family orientated stands and attractions.
